How to Order a PSL and *Not* Feel Guilty About It

You read that right. Pumpkin spice aroma is in the air and we’re taking advantage.

During a typical fall season, you may casually catch your fellow gal pals ordering a drink from the Starbucks fall drink menu. And it is counting toward her ‘one weekly treat’ or whatever it may be and she still feels the guilt while sipping away. However by making slight changes to your order you has the ability to save 200 calories alongside 24 grams of sugar. For some people going from a regular flavored latte to a skinny (nonfat milk, sugar-free syrup, and no whip) flavored latte can be too great of a leap. Check out the tips below to help make your way toward a guilt free tasty fall drink.

  • Skip the whip, no explanation needed (it will save you 80 calories just fyi).

  • Order half the syrup – in some cases there is no sugar-free option for a fun flavored drink, the PSL in particular. This is a great way to cut back on sugar when you still have that strong sweet tooth.

  • Use a different milk. While there won’t be a dramatic change in sugar or calories, there are other health benefits. Making the switch to coconut milk may taste a bit off in the beginning. And yet, the consumption of coconut milk can lead to healthier skin and may help repair wrinkles and sagging in aging skin due to the high fatty acid content.

  • Say yes to foam!!! If you are concerned with calories that is… If your drink is topped with foam, ask for extra foam or ask for it to be prepared “dry.” The foam takes up more space in the drink and you decrease the amount of milk used and the number of calories in the drink.
