Students have now been living at the 55th Street Res Hall (one of Marymount Manhattan dorms) for over a month now and they’re all pretty much acclimated to the space and city. Here’s an inside look at how residents Claire and Lauren made their dorm room look and feel a little more like home:

Claire Sanders: Communication arts.
Lauren Garafano: BA in Theatre Performance with a musical theatre minor.
2. How would you describe your dorm room style?
Claire: Adorable and homey.
Lauren: It’s too cute.
3. Where did you get most of your dorm room stuff?
Claire: Bed Bath and Beyond, Target, and T.J. Maxx.
Lauren: Target.
4. What is your top three favorite things about your dorm room?
Claire: My view, our string lights, and my photos.
Lauren: My view, my graffiti poster, and living with Claire, my roommate.
5. What’s one thing you could change about your dorm room?
Claire: My bed is on top of Lauren’s bed.
Lauren: I need more space in the dorm room.

Claire: Dressing NY, my New York City seminar
Lauren: Acting 101
7. Why did you decide to choose Marymount Manhattan?
Claire: Because it was in New York City.
Lauren: The wonderful musical theatre program.
8. What’s your favorite thing about Marymount Manhattan College?
Claire: The small size of the school is perfect. It’s a small community.
Lauren: Everyone knows each other. Even if you don’t know the person personally, you know of them.
9. What’s one thing you would change about Marymount Manhattan College?Claire: The male to female ratio.Lauren: When people don’t move fast enough in the halls is really annoying.
10. What’s the coolest thing you’ve done since you’ve been in New York City?
Claire: We went kayaking in the Hudson river.
Lauren: Elise Fest, which is a new music festival, that focuses on different broadway shows and performers.
11. What clubs at Marymount Manhattan College are you in or wish to be in?
Claire: I would like to join Her Campus.Lauren: Me too.
