Why not start the summer with a fresh look? For this season, think bold hair accessories, be experimental with your nails, and treat your feet right.
Good head on her shoulders
Unless you’re Brigitte Bardot circa 1960s, who still managed to look seductive and cute with her big, fluffy bedhead, then you can skip this part. Most of us aren’t a stranger to bad hair days now and again. Too much of a hassle to iron, straighten and curl? Thank goodness we can resort to the newest and hottest hairpiece — the turban. Sported by celebrities, stylists and models, a turban is definitely one of the novel trends for you to try.

The perfect touch
Did you know that a daring manicure can make as much of a statement as a pair of to-die-for stilettos? Here are three major nail trends that you need to know.
Chanel Le Vernis in Black Pearl, gold-foiled nails, O.P.I’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: on Stranger Tides,” backward French tips
1. Gold Digger
Simply painting on multiple coats of glittery nail polish won’t do the trick this season. To spice it up, you can either layer it over dark shades — think gold shimmer on top of dark grey — or be bold by placing gold foil on your nails to create the opaque metallic-chic look.
2. Shattered
Inspired by the black shatter in Katy Perry’s collection, O.P.I introduces the “Pirates of the Caribbean: on Stranger Tides” set, which includes colors that range from retro mint to blue-hue pink. The biggest spotlight of the collection falls on the Silver Shatter topcoat that creates a “shattered effect when applied over nail lacquer.”
3. Backward French Tips
Just do the French top at the end of your nail (by the cuticle) and voilà — a retro vibe reminiscent of the ’50s. We suggest using nude as the base color and black as the moon tip.
Best foot forward
From ballerina flats to gladiator sandals to clogs … we’ve all witnessed how shoe trends have transformed during the past decade. And now it’s time for “flatforms” — yes, you heard me right. These aren’t platforms but flatforms: part platform and part wedge. Your feet will be so thankful for a break from your more classic heels.
