Getting into the sharing mindset of the giving-and-receiving holiday season is easier than ever with new websites that allow you to rent almost anything you could imagine. Now, with just a few clicks, all of our desires are at our fingertips. You already know about sites such as Netflix for movies and Rent the Runway for dresses, but Lacquerous offers the same order-use-return idea with luxury and designer nail polishes.

For $18 a month, a membership with Lacquerous allows users to rent three polishes for a 30-day period. Currently, the service offers polish from Chanel, Dior, Mac, Butter London and others. More than 70 shades are currently offered, but users can also request new shades and brands for Lacquerous to stock.

Does this idea sound gross to you germophobes out there? The company’s website promises that no bacteria can survive in Ethyl Acetate, which is an ingredient in nail polish. Remember, every time you make a trip to the nail salon for a manicure, they don’t take out a new bottle just for you.

So what’s the catch? Nothing really, besides you are only allowed three coats of each polish per rental. Lacquerous measures polish levels in between rentals to monitor this.

Currently, membership is only available by requesting an invitation from the website and agreeing to their membership policy. Non-members cannot order from Lacquerous. Rather than spending up to $30 on a new bottle of polish that lasts long enough to get sick of, what’s stopping you from trying Lacquerous on your own nails?
