Mizzou Serves Up Farm Fresh Food at Lowry Mall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Mizzou chapter.

Mizzou hosted a Farmer’s Market at Lowry Mall, featuring everything from fresh produce, jams, pies and brisket sandwiches. Local farmers, chefs and pastry chefs brought their delicious food to share with the Mizzou community.

Mark Mahnken from Missouri Legacy Beef yells at passing students to come try his “all local, all natural, all good” barbeque. Mahnken and other workers served brisket, brats and other types of barbeque to long lines of students and faculty outside of Ellis Library.

Freshman Keennan O’Brien and local violinist Brennus play music together next to Lowry Mall during the Mizzou Farmer’s Market. O’Brien is a music major who enjoys playing folk music outside of his dorm on either his guitar, his mandolin, or his ukulele.

Lindsay Roseman is a senior at the University of Missouri, studying magazine journalism and Spanish. In Columbia, she is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta women's fraternity, Mizzou For Malawi Steering Committee, and can be spotted on campus touring potential Journalism School-ers. This Chicago native loves a good Jodi Picoult book, trying new foods, traveling, and hitting the pavement for a run. After reporting for the school newspaper and interning in her hometown, she spent the summer in NYC at Women's Health Magazine and now is so excited for a great year with HC Mizzou!
