Komen Race for the Cure held in Mid-Missouri

Participants came out to show their support for the Susan G. Komen Mid-Missouri Race for the Cure in Columbia on Sunday Sept. 16, 2012. The race began at Mick Deaver Memorial Drive and ended at Memorial Stadium.

The race ended with a few laps around Faurot Field at the University of Missouri on Sunday Sept. 16, 2012.

To show support for the cause, children participated in the Kid’s Dash for a Cure after the 5-kilometer Race for the Cure ended.

Mizzou cheerleaders and Golden Girls attended the Race for the Cure on Sunday Sept. 16, 2012 to keep everyone participating motivated and excited about the cause. 

Brooke Hofer is a senior at the University of Missouri. She is majoring in Strategic Communications through the School of Journalism while also pursuing minors in Classics, Psychology and a general Honors degree. In addition to writing for Her Campus, Brooke is an active member of Kappa Delta Sorority (Epsilon Iota chapter), Vice President of Sigma Alpha Pi, and she is a barista in the Columbia, Missouri area. Brooke loves working out, writing short stories, reading old books, and spending time with her family and friends in Kansas City. She hopes to eventually travel the world while working in the advertising or public relations industry.
