HCM Homemade Pinterest Projects

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Mizzou chapter.

Freshman Abbey Theban (HCM photographer) made this Pinterest-inspired project by taking a hair dryer to a row of crayons.

Abbey also crafted these hanging decorations over break for her room.

Junior Connie McCollom (HCM photographer) printed all of her favorite inspirational phrases pinned to Pinterest then put them in old frames found around her house and a few more bought to complete the collection. The frames are mounted on the wall with 3M command stickers above her desk.

Connie found this frame at Goodwill. She took out the original photo, cleaned the frame, and painted the frame blue. Then connected string to the edges of the frame and using paper cilps attached more clever phrases or photos printed from Pinterest.

Connie and her roommate Kathryn Darst painted this tree mural for their apartment living room.

Connie also created this jewelry holder by hot glueing dessert saucers together. The dessert saucers were found at a garage sale.

Connie is a photojournalism major and to keep herself inspired she uses paper clips attached to ribbon/string to display some of her favorite photos she has taken over the years.

Lindsay Roseman is a senior at the University of Missouri, studying magazine journalism and Spanish. In Columbia, she is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta women's fraternity, Mizzou For Malawi Steering Committee, and can be spotted on campus touring potential Journalism School-ers. This Chicago native loves a good Jodi Picoult book, trying new foods, traveling, and hitting the pavement for a run. After reporting for the school newspaper and interning in her hometown, she spent the summer in NYC at Women's Health Magazine and now is so excited for a great year with HC Mizzou!
