Book it to the Theater: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Mizzou chapter.

There are few things in life more satisfying than reading a book and then seeing the words, characters and events animated in a way you could only imagine before its conversion into cinema. This has been proven again and again through box- office- busting numbers for the Harry Potter and Twilight series. Get ready to crack open some books because Her Campus Mizzou has the info on the page-turners that promise big stars and even bigger box office numbers.

Stars:
Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara, Stellan Skarsgård

Genre: Mind-blowing mystery!

Series: International Best-Seller Trilogy that includes The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’ Nest

Plot: Henrik Vanger enlists journalist Mikael Blomkvist to help him uncover the truth behind his niece’s sudden disappearance some 40 years ago. Along the way Blomkvist’s investigation of the alleged murder attracts the attention of troubled computer hacker Lisbeth Salander. The more the unlikely detective duo digs deeper into the Vanger family’s past the more the family turns against them. With loads of twists and turns behind every discovery, waiting for the next film of the trilogy will seem nearly impossible. After the closing credits roll, I foresee a quick run to the bookstore nearest you to solve the mystery of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo once and for all (Or, at the very least, Netflixing the subtitled versions).
