This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Mizzou chapter.

Participants dressed in black throw gold paint in the air at the Black and Gold Run Saturday morning Oct. 13, 2012 in Columbia, Mo. The two mile run/walk started and ended in Peace Park.

Runners make their way up Cherry St. at the beginning of the Black and Gold Color Run.

People of all ages participated in the color run as either volunteers or runners. During the race, runners go through color zones where they are sprayed with gold powder.

The race started and ended in Peace Park. Many viewers gathered around the finish line to watch everyone come in covered in gold powder.

Mizzou seniors Caitlin Steffen and Lauren Christopher ran the race together early Saturday morning.

Mizzou senior Allie Webb was hit hard in every color zone and ended the race covered in gold.
