Campus Celebrity: Lee Hersh of Fit Foodie Finds: “Spreading the Love of Oatmeal”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Minnesota chapter.

Our next Campus Celebrity is the blogger behind Fit Foodie Finds. A blog wrtten by senior U of M student, Lee Hersh. On her blog you can find recipies, workout ideas, and motivation to lead a healthy and happy lifestyle while in college!

Q: What is Fit Foodie Finds (FFF)?

A: FFF is a personal blog that documents a healthy approach to the collegiate lifestyle. I focus on healthy recipes, exercise, photography, and everyday activities of a college student.

Q: How did FFF get started?

A: I started FFF almost a year ago. I was (and am) an avid reader of many healthy lifestyle blogs because they are truly inspiring. I decided to start my own blog to document my lifestyle as a way to keep myself accountable, in hopes to living mindfully and well while in college.

Q: Biggest FFF Accomplishment?

A:Spreading the love of Oatmeal.

Q: Best advice you could give a fellow classmate?

A: Do what you love and you will love what you do.

Q: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

A: With my free time I enjoy traveling and/or spending time with my family. I also thoroughly enjoy the act of learning :)

Q: Favorite Campus Restaurant?

A: My favorite campus restaurant is Cafe421 in Dinkytown. I love the local vibe and creative menu. The atmosphere is intimate and it is a great “first-date” restaurant.

Q: Background information?

A: I grew up in Milwaukee, WI, I have an older sister, Michelle and a younger brother, Clayton, my favorite food is grapes, and I’d rather be hot than cold

Q: What else are you involved with?

A: I think extra-curricular activities are just as important as my education. I am currently the President of the SUA Program Board, part of the SUA Grants Committee, an intern for F.I.T. Force (an after school childhood obesity campaign), and a Cooking Matters volunteer. I also freelance write for AnytimeHealth.com.

Q: After college plans?

A: If I don’t find a job, my “tentative” plan is to move to Colorado and serve a year or two in the Americorp. Then, I plan on going back to school to get my Master’s in Public Health.

Q: What are your goals for FFF?

A: This is a tough question. I guess my goal is to keep building relationships with readers. I always joke that I have more Twitter friends than real friends.

Thanks for sharing, Lee! Hopefully, some of you awesome readers are inspired to make a homemade lunch, go on a run on East River Road, or perhaps even start your own blog!
