Last year I tried a pumpkin spice latte for the first time in an attempt to understand the hype (you can find this article on my author page!) Long story short, I didn’t like it. With that said, I was nervous to try another fall drink, the Peanut Butter Cup Macchiato from Dunkin’. But I’m so glad I did.

I work right next to a Dunkin’, and every morning I order a medium iced caramel macchiato. One day, I wanted to do something different. The Peanut Butter Cup Macchiato had intrigued me since I first noticed the advertisements for it on the billboards I see on my way to and from work. I was getting a little sick of the caramel taste after having it so many times in a row, so I figured I might as well mix things up, as skipping my morning coffee is never an option. I was skeptical, thinking that there would be an overly sweet taste or a flavor that didn’t taste like the beloved Reese’s treat at all.

I know I’m going to get attacked by coffee snobs for saying I like to mix my iced macchiatos. I do this because I don’t like the strong espresso on top by itself, so I mix it with the sweetened milk. For this one, though, I tried it without stirring it so I could more accurately review it. I took one sip, followed by a satisfied “Mmmm…” before having another taste.

For as long as it’s available in stores, the Peanut Butter Macchiato will be my go-to drink from now on. I find the flavor to be just the right amount of sweet for me. I can taste peanut butter notes. I can taste chocolate notes. I can taste hints of espresso. It’s so creamy and makes me even more excited for Halloween, plus the orange color of the syrup is a cute touch. America, I suggest you run to your nearest Dunkin’ and try this amazing new drink while you still can!
