Red (Taylor’s Version) (The Vault) Review

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Millersville chapter.

If you have been following my writing, or know me personally, I absolutely love Taylor Swift. Red (Taylor’s Version) came out November 12th. Most of the album is of course very similar to the original however there are numerous vault songs that were released with this album. Here is my review of some of the Red album vault songs.

Ronan

If you are a die-hard Swifty, you have definitely heard this sound before being released from the vault. This song is one of her few songs that deal with the heartbreak of a different kind. This song describes the heartbreak that comes when losing someone, specifically a child, to cancer. You will 100/10 need tissues for this song.

Nothing New

When I first heard Nothing New, it honestly felt like Ms. Taylor herself had written this song about my life. This song discusses how most of us are feeling in our early 20’s. For most of us, we are going through some sort of transition or a test of grit. These tribulations may make us question just what the heck is going on in our lives and where are we going.

Babe

When considering the lyrics and the music, this song kind of contradicts itself in the most perfect way. The music is very upbeat which leads you to believe if you are not paying attention, that the song is a positive one. However, the lyrics tell the story of a person heartbroken and over a relationship because their partner cheated. All that being said, this is still a jam!

Message In A Bottle and The Very First Night

If you need songs to add to your Feel Good Friday playlist, Message In A Bottle and The Very First Night are the songs. I just can’t help but want to dance and sing along to these songs. They are such feel-good songs, I love them!!!

All Too Well (10 Minute Version)

First off, I think we can all say Jake Gyllenhaal has been ruined by this song. This version of All Too Well completely changed the light of the original. This is no longer about a passionate amazing autumn love that ended too soon. Within this version, you are able to see how she was taken advantage of and easily manipulated due to her age.
