This week is Halloween, and perhaps the scariest week of the year (besides finals week…yikes). It’s a time to have fun, dress up, and participate in all types of autumn activities. As fun and spooky as Halloween is, I do have one problem with it: I am sick and tired of people shaming and making fun of people who are afraid and do not enjoy the scary festivities of Halloween. I myself enjoy the occasional fright and am a huge fan of horror movies, but I understand that others are not. I cannot tell you the countless amount of times I have seen people make others feel like trash because they do not enjoy being scared. They force their friends to watch movies and go places where they do not feel comfortable and that’s not cool. It is okay to not enjoy these all the scary aspects of the Halloween season. It does not make you a “baby” or countless other things you have been called. it is also okay to stand up for yourself and say no, there is nothing wrong with that. There are many other activities to enjoy. So fear not this Halloween, enjoy yourself, and stay safe
