One of my most favorite phrases is DIY: Do It Yourself! While I don’t consider myself an artist, I do think I am somewhat of a pro at DIY crafts. DIY crafts are typically easy with clear instructions, which is something I appreciate. However, some DIY projects require materials that are either hard to find or relatively expensive. As a college student, it can be hard to get your hands on some of these materials! So I’ve compiled a short list of some of my favorite inexpensive DIY projects for you to do!

Washi Tape Tea-light Candles

This simple craft is one quick and easy way to decorate your candles and make them a bit more fun! All you need is tea-light candles and washi tape! Occasionally Michaels has washi tape on sale for a dollar, which is a bargain indeed.

Decorative Plate Art

These artsy plates can create such a neat decoration for your dorm room walls! You can choose any painting or image that you want to use. Just pick up some cheap dollar store plates and modge podge and you’ll be ready to get started.

Clothesline Picture Holder

Looking for a cute way to hang up pictures of your friends, pets, roommates, family members, etc etc? Look no further. All you need is string, clothes pins, and your favorite photos. Find the tutorial here.

CD Mirror

If you’ve got some old CDs you no longer listen to, repurpose them and create this funky mirror! You can either use a mirror you already have, or pick one up at a dollar store or Michaels.

Mini Notebook

The next time you finish up your cereal and go to throw out the box, instead make some notebooks out of the cardboard! These mini notebooks are the perfect size for journaling and writing down all your favorite DIY crafts ;)

Pinterest and YouTube are FULL of even more DIY projects as well! If you try any of these out, let us know! Have a creative week! <3
