You may have your go-to comfort foods, but they’re probably pretty basic. Let’s be real, how many times can you cry over a chocolate bar before your tears turn to actual chocolate? Here are some new foods to try next time you need a nice little food hug!
1. Doritos nachos
Take your average nacho and throw it in the trash. Instead, throw some cheese Doritos on a plate, smother them in shredded mozzarella cheese, and microwave it until the cheese is beautifully melted. I promise, you’ll never eat regular nachos again.
2. Ice cream and soft pretzel
This one sounds a little odd at first, but it’s still amazing. Grab your favorite pint of ice cream and a nice and warm soft pretzel. Instead of a spoon, use the pretzel to eat your ice cream. Thank me later.
3. Tuna and avocado
I don’t know about anyone else, but tuna sandwiches are my go-to rainy day lunch. Next time you break out the tuna, swap the mayo for some fresh avocado! Toast your bread and put the concoction on there. Avocado makes everything taste better. YUMMMMMMM!
4. Peanut butter and English muffins
Growing up, I had this combo all. the. time. Seriously, I was shocked to learn that people don’t usually eat this! Grab your English muffins, toast them up, and spread some creamy peanut butter. It melts perfectly. If you’re feeling brave, add your favorite jelly for a retake on a PB&J!
5. Peanut butter and Oreos
Sorry, I’m a sucker for anything with peanut butter. I got this classic idea from—you guessed it—The Parent Trap. When Lindsay Lohan dipped her Oreos in the jar of peanut butter, a true masterpiece was born. Don’t go for the peanut butter Oreos either. You need to do it the old school way.
