Ah, November. Almost done the semester. Hoco is no-mo. The time for Halloween pics and the stress of a costume has come and gone. Now for the good stuff! That’s right, I’m talking about Thanksgiving. Turkey day is the best day of the year. Let’s see why.

1.You can eat anything you want-and no one can judge you!

This is the one day of the year that you can shamelessly eat as many helpings as you want. If anyone even THINKS about giving you a dirty look, just look them right in the eye, and shove another forkful of mashed potatoes in your mouth

2. Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade

I don’t know about anybody else, but waking up to see the Thanksgiving Day parade hosted by Macy’s is the ONLY reason I will willingly get up at 8 a.m. Who doesn’t love a parade full of great Broadway skits, giant balloon characters, and–of course—Santa!

3. Black Friday

After you’ve spent enough time dozing off on the couch from all of that turkey, it’s time to get your shopping gear on and hit the stores. Black Friday is the infamous day of sales, bargains, and crazy moms trying to get that last Transformer. As time goes on, this day starts earlier and earlier. Before we know it, it’ll be starting on Halloween. So be it!

4. Leftovers

The greatest part of Thanksgiving is getting to repeat it over and over with your leftovers. I’m talking a week straight of turkey sandwiches and reheated stuffing. Make sure you put your name on that tupperware container. We all remember the famous Ross incident. Hands off!

5. It’s the official start of Christmas!

That’s right folks! Thanksgiving is the official start of the Christmas season! Break out your Christmas music, the decorations, and start binging on all of your favorite Hallmark movies. No one likes the day as much as they like the season, am I right? Get ready for Santa!

As we approach Thanksgiving, let us all pray that the food be plenty, delicious, and left-over worthy.
