Salon Review: Attitudes Uptown

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Miami (OH) chapter.

CONFESSION
I am OCD about only two things in the whole world: my coffee and my hair. This article is about my hair.

Over the past four years, I have visited many of the hair salons in Oxford. Each time, I missed my regular stylist from back home. She had been cutting my hair since I was twelve, and she was there when I made the terrible decision to get full-on bangs in tenth grade. (PhotoSource)

My stylist has always seemed irreplaceable–that is until I tried Attitudes Uptown last weekend. Even though I felt like I was cheating on my old stylist, I made an appointment with the salon’s co-owner, Tammy for Friday morning.

After showing her a picture of the beautiful Claudia Schiffer, whose style I wanted to emulate, she asked detailed questions and made adjustments as she cut for my hair type. Afterward, she took the time to show me how to curl my hair like Schiffer’s in the picture.

Even including a tip, I was astounded that my total came up to less than $35. I have literally never paid less than $40 for a haircut and style. And with the co-owner of the salon, no less!

All the staff members at Attitudes Uptown are friendly, talkative, and skilled. After disappointments at other salons in Oxford, I can easily say that this is the best salon experience in town. Thanks, Tammy!
