4 Guys You Should Date Before You Graduate

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Miami (OH) chapter.

Here in Oxford, there are no shortage of eligible single men. The personalities of the guys vary, but dating a few different fellas is guaranteed to provide an amazing experience and teach you something about yourself. When the bittersweet day of graduation rolls around, you will have learned some great lessons for dating in the “real world”–unless one of these men turns out to be a keeper!

1.     The Athlete
While there is one significant and obvious perk to dating this guy, but Her Campus is not all about the looks. This guy has more to offer, trust us!
For starters, he will keep you in shape. This guy is always busy and trying to make sure he is performing his best. Having this mentality around sure couldn’t hurt. You will be motivated to pick-up a random game of soccer or go along to the rec with him, even if you won’t be lifting the exact same weight.
Another perk to dating this kind of guy is that he can also get you into the school spirit. You don’t have to go to games alone, because you can easily take a big group of your girls and have fun. He might also introduce you to some sports you didn’t really know about. All of these things are wonderful and that is why this guy is first on our list! (Photosource)

2.     The Nerd
Next up on our list is the nerd. He’s the guy in your hardest class that always knows exactly what the professor is talking about and how to do everything. He’s a good one to score because he can help you focus on school.
He’s not going to be out partying 24/7, and that can only help your GPA. More often than not, he will be at the library or just studying in his room. This benefit may motivate you to have study dates together. If you two happen to be taking some of the same classes, then the obvious perk for this guy is just helping you learn the material. This guy is dependable and helpful to you and your studies, and his attributes are ones that Her Campus feels should not be overlooked!

3.     The Frat Boy
Now this guy will give you quite the opposite experience from our last one. He’s the guy that will always have a pick-me-up party experience to pull you out of a slump.
This guy is all about meeting new people and having a good time. At the very least, you will have some great, even epic, party stories. Always a plus is that you could make a ton of new friends. This guy will also ensure that you never get too stressed or worried about anything with all of the fun he has planned. Taking breaks to smell the roses and living your life are what you need to be doing to stay sane anyway, so welcome the frat boy to number three on our list!

4.     The Friend
This is the guy you feel the safest with (who doesn’t want that?!). He’s the guy that knows everything about you and still chooses to be seen with you in public.
This guy is great because he has obviously seen you at your best and your worst, so you won’t scare him away easily. He is also sincere and has always been around, so you’re used to spending a lot of time with him. He will be happy doing anything with you, which is great for nights you just don’t feel like going out. The friend is a great listener and has been for awhile now, so communication should be a snap in this relationship. Overall this guy is sweet, goofy, and just what you need to get you through hard days or just to be lazy and silly with. This guy will create a stable relationship that you will value, and that is why he is last, but most certainly not least on our list! (Photosource)

All of these men are different and have their own particular lessons or experiences that they will bring to the table. None of these men are better or worse than the other, they are just distinct in their own ways. Have fun dating, Collegiettes!
