Her Campus: What is your favorite show to binge watch?

Campus Cutie: “Empire! That is my show! It’s on [FOX every Wednesday night.”

HC: What do you like to do in your free time?

CC: “I like to go out to eat! I eat all types of food- Mexican, Italian, Soul food! The best food comes out of local restaurants because it’s their own.”

HC: What’s your most recommended local restaurant?

CC: “I don’t think it’s local… but Moe’s would be the one I’d go to. It’s so good!”

HC: What’s the craziest thing your class did in high school?

CC: “The craziest thing out senior class did was let an eagle loose in our classroom. One of the kids got an eagle and brought it to school but when he got to school he hid it in his jacket. He let it go and it flew around the school. The whole senior class got in trouble. They cancelled our senior trip but we made our own senior trip.”

HC: What’s your favorite thing about University of Memphis’ campus?

CC: “The fraternity boys and basketball boys and football men!” (Followed by uncontrollable laughter)

HC: What do you like about the football games?

CC: “They are exciting! I like the band and the [Pom] Squad! I wish I could be a part of that.”

HC: What’s the coolest part about living in Memphis coming from California?

CC: “Is there one? I’m just playing! Meeting different people! I wouldn’t have met the majority of my classmates in my social work class.”

HC: What do you miss most about California?

CC: “My family!!”

HC: What is one thing in California that we need in Memphis?

CC: “Jack in the Box!!!! A Dave N Buster’s too!!

HC: What do you do outside of school?

CC: “I go to church and work at We Care Daycare Center. It has its days!”

HC: What’s your favorite part about working at a Daycare?

CC: “Laughing at the kids! They tell me jokes.”

HC: What are your plans after college?

CC:  I want to start an anti-bullying organization dealing with bullying. I was bullied as a child so I want to help other kids to have a place to go to and someone to talk to. I want to stop bullying.”

HC: What is advice you would give to people being bullied?

CC: “Stand up! Talk about it! That’s one of the things I regret, I never talked about it until later on. In school I was quiet until I got fed up and it all came out. So, talk about it. Let it be known that you are being bullied.”

HC: If you had a billion dollars, what would you do with it?

CC: “I would start my organization- get the building for it, finance it and get one of my social work friends at my church who told me “if you need anyone, I’m here.” I would start my organization. It would probably be a lot of work and take a lot of time but I’d be proud of it in the end once it’s up and running.

HC: What is your dream date?

CC: “My dream date would be a picnic in the park really and a walk around the park would be sweet!”

HC: What are three things you look for in a guy?

CC: “Godly, family-oriented, and education!”

HC: What would you dream guy be involved in on campus?

CC: “He would probably be in a fraternity!”

HC: What do you bring to a relationship?

CC: “I bring support. That’s one of the biggest things I bring. You can be struggling with school and I am always here to talk to you. Or if you’re having issues with your family that you need to get off your chest, I am here to support you or if you’re having school problems. Support is really what I bring.”

HC: What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

CC: “I like country music! My favorite singer is Luke Bryan! I’ve seen him in concert too! And I like Florida Georgia Line! I want to see them. Country music is the best!”

Ariel was a joy to interview! She has a bubbly personality and a huge heart to reach out to kids and stop bullying. She is a first choice candidate for Campus Cutie and one of University of Memphis’ finest students. If you see her around campus, let her know she’s awesome. I’m sure she’ll start up a conversation from there!
