Festive Procrasti-BAKING: Santa-Hat Brownies

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at McGill chapter.

One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is all of the festive baked goods. These delightful and delectable little Santa-hat brownies are the perfect after-exam treat, Christmas-party gift, or procrasti-baking venture. They are candy for both the eyes and the mouth!

The best thing about these brownie bites is that they are quick and simple to make. You can use your favorite brownie recipe, or—if you’re pinched for time—the two-bite brownies from your closest grocery store work just as well. If baking your own, you will have to cut the brownies into circles. You need one strawberry per brownie.

For the white, fluffy part of Santa’s hat, you can use store-bought icing, make your own vanilla butter-cream, or pipe some melted white chocolate. Instead of just a dollop of the icing or cream, white chocolate chips on top are a good option.

To assemble the Santa-hats: create a ring of icing/butter-cream/chocolate on top of each brownie. Cut off the base of a strawberry and place this now flat side on the icing. Add some gentle pressure to secure the strawberry in place. Finish the hat with a dot of icing/butter-cream/chocolate and place a white chocolate chip on top.

Indulge!
