Beyoncé Announced Her New Tour And She’s NOT Stopping in Montreal

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at McGill chapter.

During her iconic super bowl performance, our Queen Beyoncé announced that she is going to be embarking on a new world tour; but don’t start celebrating quite yet, McGillians, because Beyoncé will NOT be performing in Montreal.

The tour- aptly named “Formation,” after Bey’s new single that was released last week- begins April 27th and has 40 tour-dates lined up.  Billboard said her tour is split evenly between North America and Europe, with her North American shows running until mid-June, and then the European leg of her tour lasting from mid-June throughout July. Tickets are expected to run anywhere between $65-$300, depending on the seating level you choose.

Beyoncé will only be making two stops in Canada- one show in Toronto and one in Edmonton. While a concert in Toronto makes sense, given it’s the biggest city in the country, Canadians are confused as to why Edmonton made the cut. Social media has been blowing up with disappointed Canadians expressing their frustration with the lack of love for other Canadian cities. At least those in Edmonton are probably happy. Other North American cities Beyoncé will be stopping at include Dallas, Seattle, Chicago, Miami, and Nashville. For the full list you can check out Beyoncé’s official website.

Even though the Queen isn’t performing in Montreal, it’s still possible to road-trip it to one of her other nearer concerts. Scoring tickets to either her New York concert on June 7th or her Boston concert on June 3rd is the perfect excuse for a road trip with your besties (and a few nights in the city). If you want to stay within the Canadian border, you can easily take a bus or train to Toronto to catch her concert on May 25th.

Tickets are set to go on sale next week and [remembers the Adele concert fiasco] anyone who wants tickets needs to get on it ASAP! Decide what concert date and place works best for you because those tickets will sell out fast. The day they start selling, make sure you go on the website 20-minutes before they’re set to start selling so you can get a place in the “virtual waiting” room first. Be prepared to wait patiently to score your tickets because it can sometimes take upwards of 2 hours when it’s a musician as loved as Beyoncé is. While waiting, remember it’ll be worth it because Beyoncé is a true Queen
