The Top 5 Companies That Save College Students’ Lives Daily

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Marywood chapter.

Being a college student is so stressful, and the thing always on our mind is money. However, with stores offering student discounts often, low prices, and clearance sales, there are definitely ways to save your money and buy quality products. Here are the top five stores that can really make a difference in a student’s budget.

1. Five Below

What’s better than a store that sells name brand products for $5 or less? Nothing. For a college student, we hate spending more than $10 on ANYTHING. So Five Below is the place to go for room decor, beauty products, candy, snack, games and much more!

2. Amazon Prime Student

Not only is Amazon Prime useful for cheap textbooks, but online shopping sometimes is the only shopping for college students that do not have a car. Two-day shipping is the ultimate blessing and selecting Price Low To High when doing your online shopping comes in clutch when you NEED to buy a tapestry for your dorm room.

3. Target

Target is basically a better version of Walmart (no shade). They may be a little bit more expensive, but their products are well worth it. They have modern, well made clothing, groceries, beauty products, electronics and anything you can think of. They also recently came out with the Cartwheel app, which lists sales and the customer can add it to their barcode. their barcode is scanned at the register during checkout and the savings come rollin’ in.

4. Uber

Let’s just say when you and your friends are feeling a little under the weather on a Saturday night, Uber can come in clutch. They arrive at the user’s destination very quickly and there is no need to hail on like a cab; it’s as easy as entering your credit card information into the app and ordering it with the touch of the screen. Uber drivers have background checks before they are hired, so you know you’re getting a safe ride home, and often times, the fare is cheaper than a city taxi.

5. Apple

Apple offers student pricing for certain laptops. This summer, they were offering a Back To School Savings sale, which was a specific laptop model, as well as a free pair of Solo 2 Beats, which usually cost around $200.00. Although most Apple products are expensive, the product itself is sleek, reliable, and perfect for a college student who needs a reliable laptop to do work on (but to also binge watch 5 seasons of Gossip Girl on).
