Moving into your college dorm for the first time must have been a roller coaster of emotions. You were probably excited when you thought about the different pieces you wanted to add to it, but you may feel that you are missing some things now that it has been a month since move-in. Don’t look any further — I have compiled a list of dorm essentials that may help you add some finishing touches to your room this October:

Bedside shelf

This can be a perfect piece of furniture to add, especially if you don’t have much space beside your bed. It allows you to easily access your phone in the middle of the night — while charging it — or holding a bottle of water in case you feel thirsty. If you want a more spacious variation, I recommend getting a trolly instead, as you can also move your stuff around your dorm with ease.

Clip-on light

If you like to switch up your study spot between your bed and your desk, this light is a great option. This light is portable, yet powerful enough that you can use it to read even when your main lights are off. This can be especially useful if you and your roommate have different sleep schedules.

fall essential oil pack

As we all may know, we aren’t allowed to have candles in our dorm as it can be a fire hazard. If you still want to make your room smell like Fall, try pairing this essential oil diffuser with this perfect Fall essential oil scent pack! With different scents ranging from Apple Cider to Pumpkin Spice, this pack may just perfectly help you set the season.

lighted orange leaf garland

These lights are the perfect combination of the fairy lights and the ivy leaf garland that we have often seen in dorm decorations, but with an Autumn twist. These lights can be used to decorate your walls, table, or mirror, and complement your furniture with a subtle touch of orange.

I hope these recommendations will help you as you navigate through dorm life this fall, and I wish you the best of luck!
