5 Ways to Stay Productive This Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Marist chapter.

As the second semester of the school year starts up, college students always seem to hit the ground running. I’m sure everyone already has assignments due and it may be a bit overwhelming to dive straight into schoolwork after our long winter break. Here are five key tips I have for staying on top of schoolwork and other responsibilities:

  1. Plan out your next day the night before so that you meet goals every day and feel that sense of accomplishment.

  2. Write down your homework right when it is announced in class, and next to it write a reasonable day/time to start the assignment.

  3. Limit social media and even consider turning off notifications (this has helped me immensely).

  4. Study somewhere that limits distractions so that you don’t drag out the amount of time it takes to do your work.

  5. Make room for a workout/any exercise daily. No matter the length, just anything that gets your heart rate up at least once daily will benefit you. Exercise truly does make a difference in productivity and concentration.
