Personally, I love doing work at coffee shops and supporting the local ones that are around campus. I don’t actually like coffee that much so I usually get a chai latte and a pastry and sit there for a few hours to get work done. Here are a few of my favorite places to go in the Riverdale area.

Savor Coffee and More located at 3725 Riverdale Ave. This place has a great selection of drinks and bistro-inspired food. The salads and paninis are also really good to get for lunch!

Mon Amour on 234 W 238th St. This cafe is not only super pretty but also very tasty. I don’t drink coffee, but my friends that do say that it is one of the best in the area. The inside of this place sets a great vibe for either doing work or hanging with friends

Moss Cafe on 3260 Johnson Ave. Moss also has a great selection of food and drinks while also being kosher and vegetarian!

An Beal Bocht on 445 W 238th St. Beal is great for the mornings when you want to get some work done but also have breakfast. The environment is very cozy and welcoming so I love going there.

Pearl Dynastea on 3702 Riverdale Ave. This isn’t a coffee shop but they do serve bubble tea! Not only is the bubble tea good but it also has two floors and a ton of seating so you can sit (bubble tea is my personal favorite so I had to include this).

These places are all independent and local businesses that I feel are a little underrated. If you need a new place to study off-campus, these are great options.
