Best Boots for the 2023 Season

These boots were made for walking! That’s right everyone, boot season is officially upon us! If you’re looking for the perfect boots that are stylish, comfortable, and keep your feet warm, here are my top five picks.

  1. UGGs. I know what you’re thinking, super basic. But in reality, UGGs are cute in their own unique way and can be one of the most practical boots for the fall-to-winter transition period. One of the most popular boots on the UGG website is their Women’s Classic Ultra Mini  Platform in chestnut. Not only are these shoes super warm and cozy, but they fit perfectly underneath a pair of jeans and are wearable with leggings too. They are the perfect medium length between the classic UGG boot and the UGG slippers. Even if you don’t like the Classic Ultra Mini Platforms, UGGs come in so many different shapes and colors, I am sure you will find something that suits you. However, the real selling point in my opinion, aside from their versatility, comfort, and easy ability to style, is that they last for years. I have had the same pair of UGGs for over six years, and they have virtually no damage at all. So, if you are deterred by their $160 price tag, know that you are definitely getting your money’s worth.
  2. Cowgirl boots. Honestly, cowgirl boots are great for the warmer seasons too. However, when it comes to styling a cowgirl boot for the colder weather, my go-to is the Steve Madden Hayward Black Leather boots. They are super comfortable to wear, which surprised me since they are fairly narrow at the front. Since they are cowgirl boots, however, they do not retain much warmth. But, I have found that wearing a thicker sock, or even fuzzy socks, makes up for the shoe’s lack of warmth on its own. They are about $130, which is on the pricier end, but they are extremely durable. On the plus side, they are currently on sale for $77.97 on the Steve Madden website, which, in my opinion, is a great deal. I have had mine for two years now and they are still in perfect condition. They pair great with most jeans and even with dresses too. I think they elevate any outfit and can be dressed up or down.
  3. Booties. Everybody needs a cute bootie, and I think Madden Girl has excellent ones for a reasonable price ticket. From my research and experience, Madden Girl is definitely on the more affordable side of footwear. However, boots and heels that I have owned from Madden Girl have held up excellently and were only about $50. One such boot is the Bonnie Pointed-Toe Block-Heel Dress Booties. These boots are a little more mature and dressy than the ones I previously mentioned, making them a little less practical for everyday wear. However, if you are looking for cute boots to dress up your holiday outfit, these are adorable, affordable, and really comfortable. The heel adds an elevated feel to the look, both literally and figuratively, but still makes an outfit really stand out.
  4. Dr. Martens. Dr. Martens are adorable and come in so many different shapes, styles, and colors. My personal favorite, especially for the winter, is the Dr. Martens 2976 Women’s Faux Fur Lined Chelsea Boot. They are super comfortable and are warm because of the fur. Dr. Marten does sell Chelsea Boots without fur, which is a bit cheaper, with the fur-lined being $180 and the non-fur-lined being $170. However, for the ten-dollar difference, I would prefer the fur-lined just so I know that the boots themselves will keep me warm.
  5. Moon Boots. Ok, hear me out. They are not for everyone, but I think if you style them properly, they can be a great shoe, and a great accessory too. My personal favorites are the LTrack Tube Faux-Fur White Boots. However, these can be difficult to style, and probably won’t look good with every outfit. They are on the expensive side, costing $320. However, if you are looking for something a little more niche and bold, these are a great choice. Moon Boots will certainly keep your feet warm throughout the winter and are meant to fit the shape of your foot accordingly.

Ultimately, whatever type of boots you choose or the brands you wear, always do some research on the kind of boots that will best suit you so we can all look super cute and comfortable throughout the long, cold winter.
