Everyone comes to the point during their school year where they just feel done. You have no motivation to work, see your friends, or do things that you enjoy. I have recently been feeling this way. I just have no motivation to do my work and I feel burnt out. But something you need to realize is that it is okay! Everyone feels this way sometimes and it is okay to feel this way for a moment, but you have to get out of it, so here are some things you can do.

Take a Break

The first thing I did was take a break. I just spent a whole day relaxing and doing things I enjoy. I spent time by myself and tried to pick myself up and figure out what to do next. During this time when I had assignments I asked my professors for an extension. There is nothing wrong with explaining how you feel to your professor and asking for extra time to do an assignment. Most of the time, if you ask them, they will say yes. This helped me a lot and made me less stressed.

Go For a Walk

When I am feeling stressed and overwhelmed with school I take a moment to pause and go for a walk outside. This helps just take my mind off things and enjoy being one with nature. Sometimes I would even go to the beach and listen to music or just listen to the waves and be peaceful. I didn’t think about anything and tried to just reset myself.

Do Not Compare Yourself To Others

This is something I do a lot. I am always comparing myself to others and I always think I am not doing my best. But once I sit down with myself, I realize that I am exactly where I am supposed to be. Comparing myself to others is not going to get me anywhere, so why do it? Everyone has different things going on so I should not be comparing myself to others and neither should you! You just need to focus on yourself and do things at your own pace.

Being burnt out sucks but you just have to get yourself out of that head space. Even though it is easier said than done, you just need to do things for yourself to get you back on track.
