Flying on a plane is one of the best things in the world, but it is also the most stressful. There have been many times I got to the airport and I realized I forgot something and just felt so unorganized. Here are some tips to get you ready for your next flight!

A Checklist

Making a checklist is probably the best way to get ready for your flight. It will help you to stay organized and not forget anything. Here is an example of a checklist with some things you would need to pack on a trip.

  • Underwear;
  • Socks;
  • Shirts;
  • Pants;
  • Sleepwear;
  • Jacket;
  • Bathing suit (depending on your destination);
  • Dressy outfit (depending on your destination);
  • Shoes;
  • Accessories;
  • Sunglasses;
  • Hair products;
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste;
  • Lip balm;
  • Deodorant;
  • Perfume;
  • Hair Brush;
  • Floss;
  • Mouthwash;
  • Razor;
  • Medicine.

What To Do Before Your Flight

Something you need to do before your flight is check-in. No matter what airline you take you usually have to check-in beforehand, about 24 hours before your flight. This is a good way to see what gate and terminal your flight will be so you will already be prepared for it. Another thing you need to do is not only pack your suitcase but your extra bag to take on the plane. It is better to do this the night before rather than the day of so then you don’t have to worry about it. Some things to put in this bag is your wallet (that has your ID, money, credit card, etc.), snacks, headphones, gum, masks, medicine, and maybe a book or something to do on the plane to keep yourself busy. Also have a plane made already for how you will be getting to the airport whether that be using Uber or having a friend drive you.

What To Do The Day Of Your Flight

So finally it’s the day of your trip and you are very excited! The first thing to do is do a last check of all your bags to make sure you have everything you need. Then view your boarding pass for your flight to make sure it did not get delayed, this has happened to me multiple times. Before you get on your flight, make sure you eat something. I cannot stress this point enough, see if there is something in the actual airport or get something beforehand because waiting for your flight while being hungry is never good. Then after you get to the airport just go through security and go to your gate and then you are ready for your vacation!

Doing these things have helped me get ready and be organized for when I go on vacation. It makes me feel organized and causes less stress. Flight anxiety is really a thing and one of the best things you can do to prevent that is to not do things last minute. Once you get on the plane you will feel ready and excited knowing you have everything and won’t have anxiety at all!
