Five Fun Weekend Ideas for Your Besties and You: No Party, No Problem

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lynn chapter.

Not everyone is into the party scene. Drinking all night and feeling awful in the mornings can be really draining every weekend. Try having a solid day/night being spontaneous, trying out new activities, waking up the next morning happy about decisions, and feeling refreshed from a good rest!

There are so many different things to do on weekends!

The beach

Day: The beach is the best place to create memories with your girl gang. Make lunch, find a restaurant, or bring snacks to ensure no girls go hangry. Laying on the beach soaking up the sun is relaxing and good for your body to get the necessary vitamins, but use sunblock and don’t overdo it. Jumping over waves and talking in the water is never a dull moment and always a laughable time; plus, salt water is great for the skin.

Night: Watching the sunset will never ever get old; the beautiful colors in the sky and relaxing, calm sense of peacefulness can be refreshing after a long busy week. Add a blanket and food, and you got yourself a dreamy picnic. You can’t forget the endless possibilities of photo opportunities with your besties.

Sky Zone

Day: If you want a fun, light-hearted day filled with exercise and childlike excitement, but with your best friends to laugh and have a great time, go to the trampoline park. Jumping, talking, and making a fool of yourself can be some of the most memorable times. Nobody is too cool to fall, laugh, and jump like nobody’s watching.

Night: Just when you thought it was ending… imagine jumping in a room lit up in bright lights with friends. Staying entertained while also having a genuinely good time. Eating pizza, drinking slushies, and taking cringe, talk about worthy videos to remember the night. Consider it, and keep an open mind.

Bake it All

Weekends are made for friends and junk food, right? Some of the best moments involve food; think about it. Who doesn’t like a good cookie or brownie?

Day: Invite friends over and plan to each bring ingredients to bake a dessert that you all can feast with while binging a show on Hulu or Netflix.

Night: Are movies more appropriate for nights? Have your closest friends sleep over, bake yummy desserts, and watch the most talked about love story, because what girl doesn’t like getting sappy over a rom-com?

Jewelry making

Yes, you heard that right; you may be thinking, what the heck, but trust me, it’s worth it.

Day: Order a jewelry-making kit from Amazon, which is no more than $20. The kits are stylish, good-quality jewelry for adults, not beaded bracelets. Your creative side will come out as you wire stones for rings and create designs for necklaces. Creating something that you can wear is the best.

Night: Create cute stations of each jewelry type on your kitchen table, Write names in the room on pieces of paper, shuffle and pick. Make the jewelry piece that best suits a friend in the room on paper. This can be so fun to get a little gift and bond with friends in a creative giving atmosphere.

Restaurants

Everyone can grab a quick drive-through after a night out, but what about good quality food?

Day– Lunch or breakfast food, whatever is calling your name, is the best way to catch up with friends on the weekend. The pleasant sleep on Saturday, feeling well rested, and filling tummies to the extreme doesn’t sound too bad.

Night: Hibachi is the most delightful, yummy and fun restaurant to go to with friends. There are so many options on the menu, so if you are low on money, don’t worry. Enjoy the cooking show and be ready to walk out with food bellies.

Consider creating memories with the friends you love to be around in other ways than partying. Try new and exciting ways to spend your time!
