After almost a year of no music, the admired pop-rock band, 5 Seconds of Summer, released a new song and music video called “No Shame.”  To reveal this dramatic announcement, each band member, along with the band account, tweeted the song and a link to listen to it.

At the beginning of the music video, 5 SOS gave subtle flashbacks to the sound of one of their previous albums, “Sounds Good Feels Good.” This was the brilliant comeback to the charts which fans had been anticipating. The music video also adds an alluring appeal with various visuals and scenes that appear.

Later on, the music video shows scenes of the entire band singing in an enclosed room with tiger eyed wallpaper. Multiple jump cut visuals feature each member of the band. The other scenes in the video show bassist, Calum Hood with a wife and kids which is followed by the funeral of lead singer, Luke Hemmings. The video then continues to show guitarist, Michael Clifford in a car accident, taking selfies of himself bloody and showing how wrecked the car is. This transgressive video has a confusing message, but after further interpretation, it is clear that the video shows how each member of the band is making fun of the idea of fame as it shows illusions of how one’s life can get altered from it.

To top it all off, the band released news of their new album CALM, which comes out March 27. Luke Hemmings spoke about the album stating that “C A L M speaks on a journey through a young man’s life, for better or for worse.”

Bonus, 5 SOS is also going on their, “No Shame Tour,” which starts on August 19 in Denver, Colorado!

After all of this news, many fans are eagerly anticipating what this band has to offer through their music and performances in the future! To keep up with the latest insights and updates of 5 Seconds of Summer, visit their website using the link
