If you love indie pop music with a little bit of R&B, you should give Tei Shi a chance!

Valerie Teicher is a Colombian-Argentinian singer and composer. She debuted with Crawl Space back in 2017. In comparison to her recent albums, this one was more of an alt, electro-pop album. She then started experimenting with indie pop music with La Linda, her second album.

Tei Shi released her new album Bad Premonition this past October.

It is such a cool album! Each song gives me such a chill vibe that I really enjoy listening to. It is a beautiful album because the melodies and lyrics convey a sense of calmness, while the lyrics speak about love in different forms. The album feels like she Tei Shi is narrating the process in which she got over an ex. Every song goes over the different scenarios on how you feel before getting into a relationship and falling in love with a person, and it talks about losing someone you were in love with.

One of my favorite songs is “Familiar,”  because you can feel not only through the lyrics but the melody that feeling of fear and anxiety about finding new love and completely getting over your ex. Also, there is the song “Mona Lisa” where the rhythm is absolutely gorgeous, and Tei Shi reflects about accepting, enjoying, and embracing your interior beauty.

There are a lot of catchy songs on this album, and the lyrics can apply to any love situation you might be in! I suggest listening to it during a self-care night.
