Tyler Conlan ’14

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at LUC chapter.

Name: Tyler Conlan

Major: Classical Civilizations and Women and Gender Studies

Hometown: Grosse Point, MI

Fun fact: He served in the Marine Corps.

What is your favorite spot on campus?

I would say the lakefront pathway in front of the IC and Madonna della Strada. It’s just a really beautiful spot, and when I have some free time I like to sit out there and look at the lake; it’s peaceful.

What is your proudest accomplishment in college thus far?

Returning back to Loyola after my military service, and then making the dean’s list the semester after I started back.

How do you prep for a night on the prowl?

I don’t think I ever go out “on the prowl” but I suppose the normal way, a shower and a shave, depends upon where I’m going.

If your life were a movie, what theme song would play when you woke up?

Probably “I Want It That Way”, by the Backstreet Boys.

What is number one on your college bucket list?

I would really like to get an academic paper published at some point.

You’re involved in the No Shave November Campaign. What does it mean to you?

It means a fun and interactive way to start dialogue and emphasize the importance of consent in intimate relationships. It’s especially important on college campuses considering the high percentage of sexual assaults, particularly by friends and acquaintances of victims.

Its #ManCrushMonday, who do you choose?

Oo, Shemar Moore for sure.  But Tom Brady is pretty high up there too.

Congrats on your homepage feature, what’s it like to be a campus celebrity and now a campus cutie?

I would hardly call myself a campus celebrity, however it was an honor to be included on the homepage, but obviously not as big of an honor as being named campus cutie, something that no doubt will be included in my obituary.
