I know I say this every month but man did this month fly by! It truly reminds us to take a second and smell the roses. March was full of lots of beauty products for me and I found some other favorites to share.

Movies

Leap Year

I stumbled upon this movie on Netflix and I’m a sucker for rom-coms so I knew it was going to be worth it. The movie is based mainly in Ireland. It is about an old Irish tradition where every four years, on a leap year, a woman can propose to their male partner on February 29th. Anna (Amy Adams) decides to surprise her boyfriend Jeremy (Adam Scott) in Dublin, Ireland and propose to him. After a whirlwind of events, Anna has to rely on Declan (Matthew Goode) to help complete her mission but as the days go by, plans start to change. I found this movie to be entertaining and a slight slowburn that wasn’t annoying like most.

Beauty

Truly Jelly Booster Pigment Body Potion

Truly Beauty is a brand I’ve always admired and I used this product for a little bit when I was younger but not religious enough to see a difference. I bought it in the beginning of March and started using it immediately and have seen a real difference. I usually use it in the evenings and some mornings if I can remember but regardless, one dropper squeeze should do the trick. You can find Truly products online or in Ulta as far as I know but it is on the pricier side so be sure to use it sparingly. It is worth the splurge though!

Truly Beauty Buns Of Glowry Smoothing Butt Polish

I started using this scrub religiously and have seen results quickly. Along with the Jelly Booster, it’s the perfect combo to keep your skin glowing and smooth. I usually use this whenever I shower, every other day and it does the trick for me. Since it’s pricier, I can’t stress this enough but use the recommended amount or slightly less. Once you add water and form a lather, a little goes a long way.

Glaze Hair Gloss

I found this product on Amazon and it’s at an affordable price. For only $14, you can ensure that your color is vibrant and lasts for a little while. I got my hair dyed in October of last year and over time, I’ve noticed my color is fading. A few months ago, I decided to use a clear gloss to lock my hair color in for a few weeks. This time around, I wanted to add some color so I bought a colored gloss in the shade “sleek espresso” which brought my hair color back to its dyed color and left a shine.

Chicago

Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeeba

Found in Lincoln Park, this tapas restaurant is the perfect place for your next get-together dinner. My friends and I went and got some Tapas and a Chicken Paella to share. I also enjoyed a half pitcher of the Black Raspberry sangria and a Chicken Empenado. Altogether, it was a great night full of delicious food and amazing company. I highly recommend you get a reservation as the place fills up quickly. As far as prices go, the tapas usually range from $5-$13 and the Chicken Paella was $30. It’s a great place to split a check and if you do it right, it doesn’t have to be expensive.

Fashion

Black Faux Leather “Hobo” Bag

Found on Amazon, this oversized hobo bag is the perfect accessory for any outfit. It comes in a variety of color options and can fit anything you could ever imagine. I find this to be the perfect substitution for a backpack if you want to look stylish on the way to classes. Since it’s at a fairly decent price, I find it easier to use everyday and it’s held up nicely.

As March comes to a close, I am looking forward to my final full month in Chicago (as a college student) and the many new favorites to come!
