Happy Thoughts to Get You Through Finals Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at LUC chapter.

Finals week is upon us, collegiates. One week is all that stands between us and Winter Break. I know it feels like destruction is imminent as we begin finals, so here are some positive thoughts to break up your misery.

1. Puppies/Kittens. Whether you need to think about cute and cuddly baby animals in general or can anticipate getting to see your own pet when finals are over, furbabies are the key to feeling better about anything!

2. Sleep. You may be pulling all-nighters and running on pure caffeine and adrenaline right now, but in a few short days it will all be over. You can catch up on sleep soon!

3. Netflix. If you’re like me, you may be boycotting Netflix until finals are over so that you can’t procrastinate. So when they are over, you can reward yourself for all your hard work by bingewatching Parks and Rec again!

4. Books. No one has time to read anything during the semester unless it’s required by one of your professors. With a long break approaching, you’ll finally have time to read that new novel you’ve been seeing everywhere!

5. Friends. Just think: as soon as you finish your last exam, there is nothing standing in the way of reconnecting with your friends from home! It’s finally time to find out what’s been going on in each other’s lives for the past four months!

6. Food. I know that I spend months anticipating the food that my family prepares over the holidays, so maybe you do too! You are less than two weeks away from your favorite holiday recipes!

7. The semester is almost over. You’re one step closer to earning your degree! Sure, the semester has been tough and maybe those bags under your eyes have doubled in size, but you did it. Give yourself the credit you deserve for taking all of your exams, finishing all of your classes, and moving on to the next step! YOU’RE AWESOME.

Keep going, collegiate! We’re almost there!
