The Halloween Costumes We Saw the Most

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at LUC chapter.

Over the past few weeks people have been spending time, money, and a lot of creative energy on what they want to be for Halloween. For some, Halloween is a time where you get tons of candy, for others this is the Holiday they plan for all year. Each year there are ample amounts of popular costumes you are bound to see. Here are the top five costumes we saw this Halloween.

Characters from Stranger Things

As one of the most popular television series this (and last) year, people took advantage of the holiday and dressed up as their favorite characters.  One of the most popular (and easy) costumes people took advantage of was Nancy Wheeler. Wearing your long brown hair (or wig) tied back on both sides of your head, a striped sweater, and a skirt with white tights and flats is the perfect way to dress up as Nancy.

Punny Costumes

In honor of the sense of humor that so many people have; I introduce to you PUN COSTUMES! My favorite costumes from this year, many people dressed as their favorite puns. Some of the best pun costumes I saw included; holy cow, O Dear, Formal Apology, and Ceiling Fan. The idea of these costumes is to go against the norm of what a lot of people dress like for Halloween; think Mean Girls on Halloween.

Wonder Woman

It is no surprise that people would want to dress up as the most bad a** super hero in the history of forever. Although some people may disagree with me, Gal Gadot was the girl for the job. In the movie not only does Wonder Woman take down all of the bad guys, but she looks awesome doing it. Who wouldn’t want to be a female superhero for Halloween?

Donald Trump

Sometimes in politics things get a little out of hand. Personal opinions aside seeing people dress up as any president is absolutely hilarious in my book. What makes it even better this time around is people get to paint themselves orange and look ridiculous, and call it a costume. I love to see politics come to life right before my own eyes, what better way to do it than on Halloween.

While Halloween has come and gone, the memories of this year’s costumes will love with us forever. For all of you Halloween lovers out there, you better get started on next years’ costumes. For the rest of you— enjoy the sales on Halloween candy!
