Being trapped inside your house because of cold weather and a scary virus doesn’t mean that your life has to lack adventure. The adventure might just have to look a little different. Luckily for you, there are some movies headed your way that are sure to bring some action to your life. I’ve got a list of new films ranging from romance to horror that you should definitely have on your radar.

To All The Boys: Always and Forever – February 12th

Now this one technically already came out, but I still thought I should mention it. Always and Forever is the final installment in the To All The Boy I’ve Loved Before movie franchise. I don’t know about you, but I love these movies, a lot. This last movie follows Lara and Peter’s senior year, and from senior trips to applying for college, they go through some pretty big events in the course of this movie. Lara and Peter also have to decide what their future together holds. Bring on the tissues because I already know that this one is going to be a tearjerker!

Tom and Jerry – February 26th

If you were a fan of Tom and Jerry as a kid, then you should definitely keep this movie in mind. It stars Chloë Grace Moretz and Michael Peña as hotel employees who are attempting to get rid of their mouse problem. Jerry has taken up residence in a fancy Manhattan hotel, and in order to make sure the hotel is picture perfect for the wedding of the century, he’s got to get out. So, the staff hires Tom to take care of their little mouse problem, and the Tom and Jerry antics that we all know and love ensue from here. This is going to be a super fun film that will hopefully take you back to simpler times.

There’s Someone Inside Your House – February 2021

This one is for all you slasher horror movie fans out there. High schoolers from a small town in Nebraska are counting down the days to graduation. But just when they get close to being done with high school forever, a gruesome killer shows up, intent on exposing the students’ darkest secrets to the world. The killer wears a mask that looks almost exactly like the face of his victim…creepy! It’s up to a misfit group of teens to discover the killer’s identity before it’s too late. While we don’t have an official release date yet, Netflix has been releasing a new movie every week, and this one is expected anytime soon. Who’s up for a little horror during the month of love?

Chaos Walking – March 5th

Chaos Walking is an upcoming sci-fi movie based on the popular book series by Patrick Ness. In a dystopian world where all women have been wiped out, the remaining men are able to constantly hear the thoughts of every living creature around them. Crazy, right? It gets even crazier when the main character Todd discovers a girl and the two of them are forced on the run for their own safety. And if this description wasn’t enough to make you preorder tickets ASAP, it also stars Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley.

Raya and the Last Dragon – March 5th

Raya and the Last Dragon is Disney’s newest movie, and it will be available both in theaters and on Disney Plus. Long ago, humans and dragons lived together in harmony, but when evil monsters called Dunn showed up, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now that the evil monsters are back, it is up to Raya to track down the last dragon and hopefully save the world. Kelly Marie Tran voices Raya with Awkwafina, Gemma Chan, and Sandra Oh also all lending their voices to the film. I just know that this is going to be a super cute and empowering film that will lift up all our spirits.

Black Widow – May 7th

The long awaited Black Widow movie is finally going to be gracing the big screen in early May. Scarlett Johansson will be reprising her role as Natasha Romanoff in this film that lets viewers in on the story of her past. As a child, Natasha was given to the KGB and groomed to be the ultimate operative. But as an adult, Natasha is on the run, and as the film weaves in and out of the past, she is forced to face her past. This movie also has a lot of big names in it including Florence Pugh and David Harbour. I personally love Black Widow and can’t wait to watch this one!

2021 has really decided to start off with a bang when it comes to movies! No matter where you watch, whether that be socially distanced in a theater or in the comfort of your own home, these movies are sure to bring a little adventure to your life. And don’t forget the popcorn!
