Boredom, Boredom, Go Away

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Louisiana Tech chapter.

It’s been really hard finding a good gaming app that’s actually fun. I miss the flappy bird and fun run days. It was engaging and had you and your friends bonding through friendly competition. Clearly, we are growing up, so what once use to bring pure enjoyment is limited. However, this does not mean that there isn’t an inner child in us. I want to bring out our inner child with these apps you either forgot about or are about to be your new addiction!

Temple Run

When this game first came out, that monster that chases you through the temple lowkey scared me. Yet, the will to continuously beat my own score made me kept playing. You should try to pick the game back up to see if you could break your old high score..if you remember it of course.

Burrito Bison

This game comes straight from our old friend, Mr. Gober Games. You know, the website we went to after we finish all of our computer lab work for the day. Well, it’s an app now. Download it, and be ready to play away!

Papa’s Freezeria

This is another one of our childhood favorites from another old friend, Cool Math. I loved all of the variations of it, too! You have pancakeria, cheeseria, pizzeria, etc. Although there are apps for these games now, you now have to pay for them. Based on reviews we are better off playing on a computer anyway.

Candy Crush

It is just something about the colors and congratulatory French words that have everyone addicted. Cookie jam is also pretty fun, even though it is very similar to candy crush.

Fruit Ninja

If that name alone doesn’t instantly bring up fruit-slicing combos from your memories, you are lying to yourself. This was probably the second most addicting game I can remember from my middle school days.

Words with Friends

I believe this game could make a great comeback! The game is so fun and challenging your friends just made it even better. Though, I suppose it’s a hit and miss depending on what mood you are in.

Word Life

Here is one of the new games I discovered that is highly addictive. It is sort of like scrabble but more relaxing, and you are challenging yourself!

Board Kings

This is also a fairly new game that I am totally hooked on. If I could choose one game to recommend you out of the whole article, I would choose this one.

Pokemon Go

This game has definitely made an impact this decade. Everyone was actually walking and exploring the streets to catch these beautiful creatures. It became so popular that it gained news coverage! It’s still a pretty popular game today.

Mistplay

The app isn’t really a game itself, but it’s a way to make a little money while playing many other games. Now hear me out, it sounds too good to be true right? I thought so too, but after hearing about it from a friend and learning how it works it’s pretty cool. You have to play a lot in order to receive money through gift cards for either Amazon, Visa, Google Play, Playstation, Xbox, and more. If you are going to play games anyway, might as well make a little something on the side.

This list can go on for another three pages but I’m sure you know where the list is headed. I understand that as we get older, more responsibilities are expected of us. Nevertheless, we must try to remind ourselves to live in the moment and remember positive thoughts bring forth positive actions!
