With the 8th season of Game of Thrones approaching, here are some predictions for what is to come in the new and exciting season. SPOILER ALERT!!!

Prediction #1: Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow Will Be The Last Ones Standing, But Conflict Will Arise

Jon will learn of his true Targaryen lineage, and it will affect his relationship with Daenerys- likely destroy it. After their steamy night alone together, they may freak out after realizing that they are related. If this is the case, expect some awkward tension between then two; this may disrupt their mission to take the iron throne. This is one of the most realistic predictions, since it is likely word will spread and Sam will tell him the news.

Prediction #2: Daenerys Will Become Pregnant With Jon Snow’s Child

While Daenerys didn’t think she could get pregnant, it is believed that she will end up becoming pregnant with Jon’s baby (after they shared a night together). It is predicted that after the death of Daenerys’ third dragon, Viserion, her womb is going to allow her to become pregnant, therefore leading to her pregnancy with Jon.

Prediction #3: Jaime Lannister Will Kill Cersei

In revenge of the death of her children, Cersei will be out for blood. In the season seven finale, Jaime learns of Cersei’s plan to betray Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen, despite their alliance. Knowing his sister, Jaime realizes that she will go to any means to get what she wants, and this scares him so he leaves. Fans believe that Cersei will become the Mad Queen, and this will ultimately lead to a showdown between her and Jaime. Their relationship is different than most, considering that they are siblings and lovers, and even had a child together. So, it is possible to expect conflict between the two, most likely ending up with Jaime having to kill Cersei. This would lead to an interesting parallel between Jaime killing the Mad King.

Prediction #4: Arya Will Become Littlefinger For Her Personal Vendettas

With Arya traveling to King’s Landing, where Littlefinger had a lot of power, it is likely she will use his face as a mask just like she did with Walder Frey. He isn’t exactly welcome in King’s Landing, possibly causing several issues for Arya, but he is still more welcome there than she would be, so it will definitely give her some advantage. Since she was the one who executed Littlefinger, it is easy for her to take his face, and use it to her advantage. Being in King’s Landing, especially with his face, she will be able to gather a lot of information, and will finally be able to complete her kill list. She has been alone for a long time, so it would be a very well-deserved ending for her in the show.

Prediction #5: Samwell Tarly Is The One Telling the Story

Towards the end of season seven, Sam is living in the Citadel trying to become a Maester with Gilly and her baby. It has been clear that the battlefield is not for Sam, so he is happy that he is finally in his element, surrounded by books and scientists. During a conversation between Sam and Archmaester Ebrose, Sam looks into a gyroscope that is similar to the one shown in the title sequence. Another clue is that Sam has a resemblance with the real author of GOT, George R.R. Martin. However, others argue that it is actually Bran telling the story, since it was recently revealed that he is the third eyed raven- “the one that sees all”.

Prediction #6: Theon Greyjoy Will Die Saving Yara

With Yara being held captive by Euron, it is predicted by fans that Theon will have a “hero moment” and will die heroically saving his sister. It is unlikely that Theon will defeat Euron, considering his fighting skills are seriously lacking in comparison, but it is likely that Yara would kill Euron in revenge of killing Theon. This part of the story would give Theon, one of the most villainous characters in the show, a chance to show that he has a decent side.

Prediction #7: REUNIONS

With season 8 being the closing season, there are many loose-ends that are destined to be tied. For example, Jon and all of his siblings- Arya, Sansa, and Bran- will be reunited at last. Another possible reunion could be Jamie and Bran. The last time the two saw each other was the first episode of season 1 when Jamie pushed him off the ledge, consequently paralyzing him. This could be a heated reunion, but they will probably work things out and work together, considering the world is at stake. In addition, a very anticipated reunion is Arya and Gendry. It is also predicted that they will get married. In season 1, Ned Stark and Robert Baratheon talked about their children getting married one day, referring to Sansa and Joffrey. However, fans predict that this may be a parallel to Gendry and Arya, since it was later revealed that Gendry was Robert’s bastard son. Other reunions will likely occur, such as Arya and Nymeria (her wolf), and Jaime and Brienne of Tarth for the preparation of the final battle in attempt to save the world from the White Walkers.

Prediction #8: The White Walkers Will Ultimately Win, and Take Over The Seven Kingdoms

As we saw in the season seven finale, the wall came down. The worst part is that the Night King turned one of Daenerys’s dragons, Viserion, into a White Walker, leaving her with only two dragons! So, let’s face it, the White Walkers have several advantages, one of them being that they constantly recruit new soldiers. If a man dies and is not burned, the Night King will be able to turn any dead man into a White Walker. Without the wall that has been protecting them for thousands of years, will the humans be able to beat the White Walkers? We will all find out when season 8 comes out on April 21st!
