6 Easy Marvel Halloween Costumes You’ll Look Super In

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at LMU chapter.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe had its biggest year yet with the release of so many new movies and TV shows, and what better way to celebrate that than a costume fit for a hero? The big day is coming up fast, so here is a list of six Marvel-themed Halloween costumes that you can quickly whip up with some thrift stores finds and a little DIY.

  1. Halloween Wanda from WandaVision

As one of the biggest shows of the year, any costume from WandaVision is sure to be a hit. Halloween Wanda stands out as a fan favorite look. With just a few brightly colored items and finessing some cardboard and paint, you’ll be a vision in this costume in no time. Bonus points if you throw on some red boots and red lipstick! For Halloween Wanda, you’ll need:

2. Yelena from Black Widow

Yelena Belova quickly became a fan favorite after her introduction in the summer blockbuster Black Widow. To achieve this now iconic look, you can use separate items that you can easily rewear after Halloween instead of scouring the internet for a white jumpsuit. Just add some stacked gold earrings, tie your hair in a low braided bun, and carry around a (plastic) baton, and you’re ready for a fight. For Yelena, you’ll need:

  • White athletic quarter zip
  • White leggings
  • Cargo vest
  • Fingerless black gloves

3. Natasha/Black Widow from Black Widow

Black Widow doesn’t get more iconic than Natasha Romanoff herself. To achieve Natasha’s look from her solo movie, look no further than basically just the black version of Yelena’s look! Top the look off with gold bracelets, small braids in your hair, and a (once again, plastic) baton, and you’ll be a poser in no time. For Natasha in Black Widow, you’ll need:

  • Black athletic quarter zip
  • Black leggings
  • Black utility belt
  • Black fingerless gloves

4. TVA Loki from Loki

Though the gold horns are his most iconic look, you can channel 2021’s variant of Loki with this TVA outfit. This costume is a perfect mix between just grabbing something off the shelf and getting your craft on. Cut the “TVA” letters out of orange felt and safety pin it to a tan jumpsuit and you’re set! For TVA Loki, you’ll need:

  • Tan jumpsuit
  • Blue collared shirt
  • Black choker
  • White sneakers
  • Orange felt TVA letters

5. Bucky/Winter Soldier from Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Look, I know Bucky’s gotten a new look since his debut as the winter soldier in the second Captain America movie, but his winter soldier look is too good to pass up on. To easily recreate his HYDRA-crafted metal arm, just put on only the left sleeve of your grey shirt underneath your black top and pin on a red star cut out of felt. For a darker look, smother your eyes in black eyeshadow and repeat “Who the hell is Bucky?” the entire night. For the Winter Soldier, you’ll need:

  • Black shirt
  • Grey long sleeve
  • Black cargo pants
  • Black face mask (COVID friendly!)
  • Red felt star
  • Black fingerless gloves

6. Nick Fury

There is almost no costume as simple as Nick Fury’s quintessential outfit. If you’re feeling frisky, throw on some green face paint and say you’re skrull Fury. For Nick Fury you’ll need:

  • Black leather jacket (preferably a long one)
  • Black turtleneck
  • Black pants
  • Black eyepatch

And remember, if you don’t have some of these items you can put on whatever else you already own and say you’re a variant of that character from another universe ;)
