Courtney McCutchan is a junior at Lehigh and is a starting athlete on the varsity volleyball team. McCutchan has been playing volleyball at Lehigh since her freshman year. So far this year our Lady Mountain Hawks have won two matches against Rider and Prairie View. The team also travelled to Fort Worth, TX this weekend to face some tough southern competition at the TCU tournament. Although our beloved Lehigh went 1 and 3, former teammate, Sarah Giegerich said, “The team played really well, they just played some really good teams.” The Mountain Hawks have an exciting season ahead of them to say the least!

How long ago did you start playing volleyball?
I started playing in seventh grade but I’ve been playing sports forever.
What’s your favorite memory from being on the team?
When we beat Colgate on senior night last year.
Is it difficult to balance schoolwork, volleyball, and your sorority?
Sometimes it’s tough, but I like having a busy schedule, so I don’t mind having a lot going on.
Do you ever get homesick being so far away?
I don’t get homesick because I have so much fun here at Lehigh. Plus my parents come out a lot during season.
Are you excited for the upcoming season?
Yes. We have had a difficult schedule so far, but I am really excited for season to start this Friday night!
