Theresa: “Den Lady” and Certified Nurse Assistant

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Le Moyne chapter.

HC LMC: Theresa, could I ask you a few quick questions?

Theresa: Hell yeah sweetie! You can ask me whatever you want!

HC LMC: So let’s start by telling me a little about yourself!

Theresa: Let’s see, I’m a mother of three – two boys and one girl. I work nights as a CNA, or Certified Nurse Assistant. I’ve been at Le Moyne since 1987. April 26, 1987 wasthe date I started. I was 18 and had just left Buffalo State. I moved back to Syracuse and heard about a position here. It was only supposed to be for one year. ONE YEAR! It’s been almost 25! I wanted to go back to school, but it washard after that. So I stayed here and grew to love it. I knew everyone back then. You could count all the students. I used to party at the Shire with them. Good times! Oh, and I’m a Steelers fan! They’ve always been my favorite team.

HC LMC: That’s hilarious that you could party with the students – must have been fun! What was your dream job growing up?

Theresa: To be a CNA! And I am!

HC LMC: What’s the best part about this job?

Theresa: The students!!!  I’m like a second mother to them! Love ‘em!

HC LMC: You are definitely very easy to talk to! If you could sit and have a drink with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?

Theresa: President Obama. There are a lot of issues that need correcting. He doesn’t see the middle class side. I’d tell him how to fix things.

HC LMC: Good for you. He needs to hear from more people like you. You would say it how it is! And how does it feel to be a Campus Celebrity?

Theresa: Feels good! Awesome!

HC LMC: Alright, last question! What are you looking forward to most this summer?

Theresa: Definitely being around the elderly at my other job. Also, spending time with my new grandson who was born in September. He’s walking now!
