Justin Sullivan: Co-President of Ignatian Ignite

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Le Moyne chapter.

Justin Sullivan ’12

Hometown: Rochester, NY
Major: Theatre Arts
Why he is Campus Celeb: A proactive Le Moyne student and all-around awesome guy!

Whats your major & why?

Theatre Arts. Ever since I can remember, I would put on shows for my family and friends. It wasn’t until I turned 13 years old, though, that I realized my act of hanging sheets and shining our octopus lamp on myself, while singing “Don’t Rain on my Parade”, could actually be a career. Not that I can sing, but theatre, art, and creation is what feeds my soul.  I’m also in the integral honors program which is cool!

What are you involved in on and off campus?

Too much! :
RA for the View!
Intern for Campus Ministry
Playing the Role of Jean in our Mainstage Show: Rhinoceros
Co-President of Ignatian Ignite
Events Coordinator for the Performing Arts Center
Work-study at the Den
Serve on a bunch of odds and ends committees

What do you do for fun?

Fun? What’s that? Actually, most of the things I do give me a great sense of joy. But if I have some down time, I’m probably practicing with my guitar (I can play yankee doodle!), reading a good book, or enjoying a glass of wine while cooking with a friend.

Tell us a little about your new club “Ignation Ignite” and what it does/your dreams for the club in the future.

Ignatian Ignite is Le Moyne’s premier Ignatian Identity Club! We continue to work to make sure that Jesuit and Ignatian identity of the College is maintained and celebrated in student circles!

Why did you start Ignation Ignite? What was your motivation behind starting it?

I spent six years in Jesuit education at McQuaid in Rochester, before coming to Le Moyne. Those years were transformative, and the Ignatian World-Vision is inspiring and inclusive!

How can people get involved?

Join any one of our ministries!

What are your plans for next year/the future?

God only knows..
Possible grad school for Higher Education or maybe moving to a city like Philly or Chicago and try a little Arts Administration

Whats a quote/motto you live by?
One word: “Imagine”

Omairys, a born and raised New York City gal of the Dominican descent, is a motivated Communications/Advertising major, with a minor in English. She does not know what she will do with her Communications degree after graduation but is ambitious enough to hope it will be something promising, as this field has been her passion for as long as she could remember. She is actively involved on campus, as she is President of El Progreso, a multicultural organization that strives to raise awareness of the Latino community. She loves to travel: she has traveled to Kenya to work at The Nyumbani Program and will be interning at our nation's capital her senior year! She is hard working, and excited to bring change to her campus---Le Moyne.
