Mattie Young-Burns ’12 visited her sister over this past reading period. She was in Richmond, Indiana at Earlham College with her 22 year old sister Kiah Young-Burns! She spent the weekend at Earlham’s school farm where Kiah lives. Her farm has chickens, goats, and a garden and all of the members lives communally to support the projects.
Mattie also offered up some advice on how to pick up a chicken, “in order to pick up a chicken you have to chase it around the chicken coop for a long time, probably looking a little crazy, and then you have to hold the wings down so it doesn’t escape!”
Sounds like you had a wild reading period! Thanks for the advice Mattie!
