Non-Scary Watches For Halloween Time

I am an anxious and jumpy girly, which means scary movies and I do not get along. The only scary movie I can watch is the Fear Street Trilogy and that’s because it’s also queer. With Halloween right around the corner, I thought I’d share some TV shows and movies to get you in the spooky spirit without actually getting spooked.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

This is a series on Netflix that is loosely based on the OG Sabrina the Teenage Witch. I say loosely because this one is a little less PG-13 and has some heavier themes. There are some scarier episodes, but nothing I couldn’t handle which should tell you all you need to know.

Wednesday

This is another series on Netflix, and if you couldn’t tell by the title it’s an Addams Family adaptation. There is only 1 season, but that’s perfect for a binge night with friends! Plus Jenna Ortega is in it, so do I really need to say anymore?

The Nightmare Before Christmas

A classic movie in my opinion. Perfect for all the colder holidays. This option is also family-friendly if you want to watch with any younger siblings. I think it would be so fun to have a little sweet treat baking night while watching this movie too!

Practical Magic

Our last option is a movie as well. I grew up on this, my mom absolutely adored this movie and still does, so it has a special place in my heart. The witchy elements are so strong in this and it’s also set in Massachusetts which I think is pretty cool. This is the movie I think would be so amazing to watch with some friends and make different Halloween-themed mocktails or cocktails to go along with!
