Sundays are such an important day for me in terms of my weekly routine. There are a couple of key things I try to do every Sunday for my mental health and to set me up for the upcoming week. Having a designated time to recharge and reset has helped calm the chaotic mess that is in my mind. So without further ado, here are four things I try to do every Sunday.

Sleep the Heck In!

Monday-Saturday the grind seriously does not stop. With classes, clubs, and hanging out with friends, my schedule seems to never have any breaks! But *most* Sundays are clear, and I try my best to keep them that way so I can catch up on some much-needed zzz’s.

Tackle the Mountain of Laundry

Much like my lack of sleep throughout the week, the lack of laundry that gets done is the same. So most Sundays you can find me with a podcast on and doing way too many loads of laundry in the scary basement of my dorm building.

Quick Pick Up

Additionally, on Sundays, I like to do a quick pick-up of my room. Nothing crazy as I find if I stick to doing this at least once a week I never have too much to do. I wipe down any surfaces with a Clorox wipe, do a quick sweep, and fill my Brita. Just little things to freshen up my space for another busy week.

Relax!

I try my best to get any homework or hard assignments done on Fridays and Saturdays so that I can rest on Sundays. And if I do have homework I try to plan it out so it may just be readings of “lighter” coursework. As I mentioned I like to listen to podcasts or catch up on some Netflix. You can always find me snuggled up with my weighted dino, Puff, and binging Gilmore Girls for the 100th time.
