It’s that time of the year again folks, Valentine’s Day. A holiday most people either love, hate, or simply pretend doesn’t exist. As someone who isn’t celebrating this year with an actual valentine, I will instead be curling up with my favorite books. Living vicariously through my favorite fictional couples is in my opinion one of the best ways to celebrate this holiday while single. Here are some of my favorite book series and novels perfect for the occasion!

Book Series:

A Court of Thorns and Roses (Trilogy) by Sarah J. Maas

This series has a special place in my heart. Maas has been my favorite author since I was 14, so her books always make my day better. Now, I’m not going to spoil anything, but I love the couple in this series. Their love is so special for each other, and I’m addicted to reading anything about them. Even if I’m single and lonely on Valentine’s Day, these books make it all go away.

The Folk of the Air (Trilogy) by Holly Black

I have seven words for you: Smug Fae Prince and Unyielding Human Girl. You know those books that make you giggle and kick your feet when the main couple gets together? That’s what this couple does to me. I’ll be laying in my bed and suddenly just start giggling over something one of the characters does. I adore everything about this series and the love story that accompanies it. Once February 14th rolls around, I definitely think these books should be read.

Novels:

The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood

If you haven’t been able to tell by my recommendations above, I usually stick to fantasy books. Before this summer, I never really dabbled too much outside of the genre. However, after a friend recommended this book to me, I began to look for more books like it. Hazelwood does a great job of combining academic settings and romance. As a lover of science, this book was perfect for me. She writes an amazing rom-com, with the popular grumpy x sunshine trope. So, if it’s Valentine’s Day and you need a good rom-com book to read, this would be a fantastic choice!

Beach Read By Emily Henry

Have I mentioned that I love those enemies-to-lovers stories? Well, if I haven’t, then here is my declaration: I LOVE enemies to lovers! One reason I read this book was that it was about authors. The second reason was that they were enemies to lovers. Imagine two authors who happen to be enemies, living in houses directly next to each other. It is full of some very cute romance plots that will make your Valentine’s Day feel just as special as all of the couples out there.
