After the turkey and stuffing is eaten, the next tradition of Thanksgiving begins; Black Friday. While many rush out in the wee hours of the day to get the best deal of the season, others choose to sleep in. It may seem tempting to get in line outside of a store and wait for hours for free electronics it’s not worth it. Keep these tips in mind before going out for Black Friday.

1.) Avoid anywhere advertising on television. Wal-Mart and any department store will be extremely crowded from midnight to about 10 A.M until much of the store’s stock runs out. The sales that supposedly only run on Black Friday really run all season long. Save yourself the headache and go to these stores later in the season when everything’s back in stock. Instead, go to a mall or shopping district, like the Chestnut Hill Mall, and head into the less advertised stores like WetSeal or Charlotte Russe. While they will be crowded, it won’t be anywhere near the chaos at any store advertised on television.

2.) Go in the afternoon. Don’t head out at midnight or early in the morning, these are the rush hours. Instead sleep in, enjoy a leftover turkey sandwich and go out in the afternoon. You’ll avoid the crowds and will be able to shop without being shoved everywhere.

3.) Or shop online. Many stores are putting their Black Friday sales online. Avoid all crowds, traveling, and drama by simply shopping online. And you can find even more coupons. Bonus you can do it in your PJ’s!

4.) If you really want a relaxed shopping day, wait until Saturday. Stores bring out their back stock and it won’t nearly be as crowded as Friday. You’ll still get a lot of the same sales but without the hassle!

And last but not least be nice to the store staff! It’s a busy day and everyone will be stressed. Hope these tips helped! Happy Thanksgiving and happy shopping!
