Hiking in a pandemic is an awesome way to get out of the house, and enjoy the outside! It has also been one of my favorite ways to see friends and social distance. In addition to the health benefits, it is also a way to see new spots and scenery! Some of these places are also dog friendly which is awesome to explore new places with a pup! Here are my favorite sports that are local to the Boston area!

1. Middlesex Fells: Stoneham, MA

Middlesex fells located in Stoneham ma is a beautiful spot. It is dog friendly, has beautiful water surrounding it. They have all different length hikes, and the trails are for the most part, very easy to follow. They also have some beautiful spots to picnic, when it gets a bit warmer. They do have many different access points, so if you are meeting up with people I would just be super clear which one you are meeting at! Parking is free and normally pretty available.

2. Blue Hills Reservation: Milton, MA

Blue Hills is another awesome spot to hit to go for a hike! This one can definitely be more crowded, however, the view is definitely worth it! The trails are all super well labeled too! The trails are definitely not flat, so plan accordingly, and get ready for a nice climb!  It is also dog-friendly and has many awesome picnicking spots.

3. Minute Man National Park: Concord, MA

Definitely hit up this spot if you love history! It’s the home of the first shots of the American Revolution and Paul Revere’s ride. In addition to the history, it has to offer, it also has very well-marked flat trails. The trails are also very wide, so if it does get busy, it is easy to social distance from the other hikers. It can get a little busy on the weekends, but parking is plentiful and free! If you’re looking for a nice leisure place to hike, I definitely recommend minute man!
