The party season is well and truly upon us and with winter balls, work parties and family get togethers in full swing, it’s time to start looking for a party piece to last you through the festive season.

It’s all too easy to slip into old habits and buy the first little black dress you see, but they’re predictable and, I hate to say it, don’t really stand out. We’ve made a handy list of some of the best party outfits of the season with not an LBD in sight.

£59.99 Zara

This jumpsuit incorporates this season’s culottes trend in a super wearable black lace jumpsuit. At around £60 for a whole outfit, it’s really cost effective too.

Topshop- £36

A Line skirts are flattering for even the most substantial Christmas food baby and this green, festive, velvet skirt is stylish for the most sumptuous of family dinners. Paired with a black crepe or chiffon blouse, you could easily channel the A/W15 Gothic vibe.

Warehouse- £58

The shimmery midi skirt in this dress fits the glamour of the Christmas season to a T, as well as being a perfect dose of metallic to match the recent trend and earn extra fashion points!

Motel- £48

This iridescent green party dress has been sitting on everyone’s Motel wishlist for at least two years, so it’s about time you treat yourself and splurge. It’s the ultimate sequin dress with a sultry V-dip back to make it the perfect night time outfit.

Asos- £45 (£31.50 in sale)

If you’re looking for a piece to outlast the party season, this bohemian dress is the perfect transitional option.
