FreeForm’s 25 Days of Christmas 2018 Lineup, Ranked!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lafayette chapter.

The most wonderful time of year is officially here — 25 days of Christmas! Grab your plush blanket, some hot cocoa and get ready to binge. Call up your friends and family for a cookie baking sesh to prep for all the Christmas spirit coming your way! FreeForm has all your holiday movie essentials and a couple of new premieres this Christmas season. We’ve talked to our very reliable sources here at Lafayette, and the results are in for the best of this year’s FreeForm lineup:

  1. How the Grinch Stole Christmas: a true Christmas classic thanks to Dr. Seuss! Even if you don’t believe in Christmas magic, Whoville will touch your heart just like it touched the Grinch.

  1. Home Alone – Have you ever experienced that moment of terror when you lose your parents at the grocery store? Well, imagine being forgotten at your own home over Christmas break. If you haven’t already watched this movie, what are you doing with your life?

  1. Richie Rich’s Christmas Wish – This movie will help you realize, as much as you may want to run away from your family this holiday season, you’re lucky to have ‘em. And your cozy bed at home!

  1. Christmas with the Kranks – In a neighborhood of Christmas-crazed neighbors, the Krank’s plan to “skip” Christmas is easier said than done. Just like how you said you’re gonna get your holiday shopping done early this year, ha.

  1. Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas – Bring out your inner Disney-lovin’ kid and watch your favorite characters Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and Goofy (with some others) go through the ups and downs of Christmastime. I can guarantee there’s lessons in this movie for almost any age.

  1. A Christmas Carol – Jim Carrey plays yet another Christmas movie icon, Ebenezer Scrooge, in this classic. Oh, and he acts as Ghost of Christmas Past, Present and Future. Yes, that man can do anything, and if you don’t believe me you should go watch it!

  1. The Nightmare Before Christmas – This fantasy Tim Burton movie combines two of our favorite holidays: Halloween and Christmas! Jack Skellington is the pumpkin king of Halloweentown and when he stumbles across Christmas town and plans to kidnap Santa. Oh no!

  1. Life-Size – Tyra Banks isn’t only featured in America’s New Top Model, but this Christmas movie as a doll brought to life! Added bonus: you get to see Lindsay Lohan in her prime acting years.

  1. Deck the Halls – Danny Devito has big dreams to make his house visible from outer space with all his holiday decorations. Matthew Broderick starts a feud to one-up each other’s Christmas spirit, but how many lights can they use until they’ve wiped out the electricity for their entire neighborhood?

  1. Call Me Claus – Whoopi Golgberg, now known on “The View”, was once an actress in popular movies like The Lion King, The Sister Act, and The Color Purple. This Christmas movie features Whoopi as a shopping network executive taking some big steps to become the next Santa Claus.

  1. The Santa Clause series – Tim Allen has no idea what he’s getting himself into and takes the place of the old Santa Clause in this movie series. He has a lot of work to do while he fills this role, and eventually needs to search for a Mrs. Claus and combat the evil of Jack Frost who wishes to take over Christmas. These movies make for a perfect binge session for the whole family!
